“Why, hello Mrs. Smith. I’m sorry that your husband wasn’t feeling well and we couldn’t come to have dinner with you this past weekend. How is he doing?” asked Delia.

“Oh, he’s doing much better now, thank you. He had a touch of the flu but I really wanted to talk with you, though. Is there any way we can meet up to talk, probably this weekend?”

“I would love to Mrs. Smith, but my brother is in town and it’s the first time I’ve seen him in months. Is there any way we can meet on Monday?”

“Monday would be fine. How about we meet at Luana’s for lunch around noon?”

  “That would be just fine,”

  “Goodbye”

That was really weird, she thought, since Rodger’s mom had never called her before, much less invited her for a private lunch. She could only hope and pray that maybe they could come to some common ground. Looking at the clock once more, she wondered when in hell Andrew was going to arrive since she had made reservations at Filomena’s for dinner and she was starving. Going to the fridge to grab a small handful of grapes, she started to sit down on the couch and wait some more. The phone immediately rang and once again she picked it up, “Hello?”

“Hey, Deedlebug, what are you up to?”

“Just munching on grapes and waiting on Andrew.”

“He should be there soon, he stopped over here on his way and we sat and talked for a while. I’d give him another ten or fifteen minutes.”

“Lord and I’m hungry as hell, too. Oh well, I can wait a little while longer, I guess. So how’s it been, working within the legal system?”

“Stressful and tiring but it’s well worth it when you get the bad guy put away and acquit those who are innocent. I am very thankful for the weekend, though, so I can rest a bit.”

“Well, we all need our rest. How long was this last one?”

“Hmm, let’s see here, how about three grueling and frustrating as hell weeks. I honestly never thought it would end plus I had to work with another lawyer that they had hired in addition to me. This honestly, was the biggest pain in the ass, ever.”

“You need a vacation, you know. Oh by the way, since you saw my brother first, did he happen to mention anything about a surprise to you?”

“Actually he did mention something pretty big but I know you’ll love it when he tells you.”

“Well, tell me then, he’s been teasing me with it for over a month now. He won’t budge at all.”

Simone laughed. “If I told you what he told me then it wouldn’t be a surprise, would it? You are just going to have to wait until he tells you in person. But I know you will love it because I was very happy for him when he told me about it. You only have about a couple of more minutes before he knocks on your door.”

“I can’t wait that long, I’ve got to know now.” She giggled and he started laughing. She knew he was up to her game of trying to weasel out info from him. “Fine, I’ll wait a couple more minutes. I swear you are no fun, Simone.”

“But I am fun my dear it’s just that with this bit of info, you want to be really surprised and not playing at it.”

“Always the voice of reason you are. Sounds like he’s pulling up, he must have put his foot down on the gas.” She got up to look through the blinds but only saw a car driving by. “No, that wasn’t him. So, are you going on a vacation or not?”

“I can’t for at least another couple of weeks. If you could go anywhere, where would you go?”

“I was talking with Rodger and I told him that I’ve always wanted to go to the Bahamas or maybe Europe. Go all over Europe to certain places, and I’ve always wanted to go to Italy. I used to love your mom’s stories about when she was a kid. Have you ever been there?”

“Oh yeah, I’ve been to Italy dozens of times. We have family there so it’s always nice to go and visit them. I know they will feed you to death there and they love to dance. I think you would fit in just fine because you’ve always had a zest for life and fun.”

“I bet I would have a lot of fun there too.”

“I’d take you to all the places that I know you’d like to go. Like to the famous Trevi Fountain. You remember that fountain, don’t you?”

“Oh, of course I remember it. How can I forget that famous scene from La Dolce Vita? You know we haven’t had a movie night in years. Next time you get the chance to get a night off, let me know and we can have a movie night here.” Soon, a knock rattled her door. “I think that’s Andrew, I’ll talk with you later, Simone. Take care.” She hung up the phone and went to open the door as she saw car lights go off. She saw Andrew coming out of the car, a big bouquet of flowers in one hand and his bag in the other. He came running toward her as they hugged each other. “Oh, it’s so good to see you and I’ve missed you so much.” Delia giggled as he stopped and handed her the flowers.

The car alarm chirped and the lights flashed as they both went inside. “Okay, ‘fess up. I want to know this surprise. I tried to get it out of Simone and he isn’t budging worth a damn. So come on, and tell me now.”

Andrew started laughing as he looked at her. “You, my dear, are going to be an auntie.”

Her eyes widened, completely stunned by what he said, “Oh my God, are you serious? You guys are going to have a baby.” She hugged him tightly, laughing, and then all of a sudden found herself crying. “That is so wonderful! I am so happy for you both, we’ve got to go out and celebrate and I have reservations over at Filomena’s tonight. You can tell Renzo about the good news too.” She went into the bathroom to redo her makeup and freshen up again.

“I didn’t know that you made reservations, I wouldn’t have eaten at Simone’s then. You said Simone called you?”

“Yeah, he told me that you had come by his place and you were on your way. I swear I’ve been getting calls from him for most of the week. He sounded stressed-out from all of those court cases he’s been dealing with lately. Plus you knew I made reservations, I told you when we had talked. Well that’s fine, more food for me.” She was putting on some lipstick when she saw Andrew standing in the doorway.

“How many times has he called you?”

“Like every other day, I think. Mostly it’s at work that he calls me. I told him he needed to take a vacation from work,” Delia told Andrew while fixing her hair. She noticed her brother deep in thought. “What’s wrong?”

“I don’t know, but I think you’re right about him being stressed out and all. He’s got a lot on his mind right now and it’s not just work.”

She smiled while walking out of the bathroom. “Somebody must be in love, then. It’s about time, though. He’s been so tied up with work it’s nice to see he’s interested in someone.”

Andrew chuckled as she grabbed her purse and they soon headed out to town.

Filomena’s on a Friday night was packed with most of the town. Both Delia and Andrew were shocked to be able to actually get inside to the hostess podium. “I have reservations under Delia Whitney.”

While the hostess was looking over the book, Andrew saw Renzo coming from around the corner and shouted, “Renzo!”

When Renzo looked over and saw the two of them, a broad smile spread across his face as he came over toward them. Quickly he grabbed Andrew and said, “Andrew, man, it’s great seeing you, you look great. Come over to our table, I want you to meet my girlfriend Jaslyn.” They all walked toward the back to a circular booth where Jaslyn was sipping on some red wine. She smiled when she saw the group coming toward her.

“Why, hey there, Andrew, it’s good seeing you again after all this time.” Jaslyn said, getting out from the booth and going to him for a hug.

“You two know each other?” Renzo asked in wonder.

“Of course I know Jaslyn, hell I was the one who helped move her here to Kellington, so you need to be thanking me bro for bringing her here to you.” Andrew told him with a wink while Jaslyn laughed.

“That I do, with a free meal for both of you.”

  “Well,
that’s great but you might want to bring out some champagne because we are here to not only eat but to celebrate as well.”

  “Celebrate? What’s the occasion?”

Delia looked over at her brother who was smiling as big as a Cheshire cat and she found herself smiling just as big.

“I’m going to be a daddy.” Soon the congratulatory hugs and praises came to Andrew and in a way Delia had never been as happy as she was at moment.

  Chapter Five

The phone rang the following day but honestly, Simone didn’t feel like answering it. He had gotten comfortable in his bed and wasn’t going to mess it up by reaching over to grab the phone. Turning over to his other side he grumbled a bit and fell back to sleep. He was in the midst of a dream, a wonderful dream of him and Delia in bed together after having made passionate love for the first time. He still remembered that she had wanted him to be not only her first date and first kiss but also her first in bed. That, of course, never did happen even though deep down he had wanted to make that particular dream of hers come true. She would be lying against his chest, her fingers running lightly against his stomach while his fingers curled into her hair. It was a dream that he had been having for the past couple of months now. Feeling her wrapping her arm around his waist, he would hear her say the words that he loved hearing from her, “I love you Simone.” She would look up into his eyes, smiling sweetly as he held her in his arms. God, he remembered how she felt when he would hold her. It was just the way her body seemed to mold so well against his own, especially when he held her that night on their first date. He just couldn’t get enough of how she felt, how the warmth of her body against his own made him feel so secure. She made him feel more like a man than anything.

It had been years since he’d last heard her say that she loved him. Just the thought of having her in his arms like he had wanted always seemed to bring on a raging hard-on. He often wondered how she was in bed. She probably was a minx or maybe she was just like he always thought of her as being, delicate and wanting to be loved by him. Pulling back his blanket, his cock sprung up for he had a habit of sleeping in the nude no matter what the weather was like. He just enjoyed feeling the warmth of the blanket against his skin and now he could feel the warmth of his hand gently caressing his cock. He licked his lips for a moment he muttered something to himself while slowly stroking. Looking over to his side, he could see her sitting over on the side of his bed. Her smile was sweet and innocent while her eyes observed him stroking himself. “I’m sorry for doing this,” Simone whispered.

“No need to be sorry, Simone, you know I don’t mind you doing this. I love to watch you.” She lay down next to him while his hips moved in rhythm with his hand. His eyes never stopped looking at her face while she looked down at him stroking himself. Then she looked back into his eyes which were now half-closed, smiling as she reached over and lightly caressed his cheek and along his lips which were now letting out a haggard grunting sound. “Do you think of me often when you are doing this?” she asked him.

Simone smiled, “Of course I do my dear, I think of you always when I’m doing this.”

Her smile was just as sweet, “I don’t know what to say Simone.”

“Don’t say a word, I just like how you look at me while I’m doing this. I sometimes wish you could join in and make love to me.”

“Well, I have to admit, sometimes I wish I could too but I really enjoy watching your hands gliding along your cock. I bet it feels good.”

He moaned even more, my God, his imagination was running wild with him that morning.

“You look so beautiful Simone.” she told him. He found himself grunting and crying out her name. All the time, she looked at him still smiling the most incredible smile he had ever seen. Hissing through his teeth, his body surged and bucked against his hand while he cried out, “Delia!” Steady streams of cum covered his hand as well as his balls and thighs. He lay there grunting and trying to catch his breath while his body, still sensitive, continued to shake and twitch. He opened his eyes to see that she was gone, which for him was disappointing. All he could do was curse himself for having these thoughts and quickly he got up and tried to start his day.

  * * * *

Delia was making breakfast for Andrew. She decided to make some of his favorite things, homemade buttermilk biscuits, sausage patties, eggs, and grits with cheese along with orange juice. She never would make this stuff for herself because she usually grabbed some fruit and ran out the door. But this was her brother so why not spoil him a bit? Even before their mother had passed away, their relationship had been something that she treasured the most throughout the years.

“Don’t tell me you’re making buttermilk biscuits?”

Delia smiled when she heard him ask. “And I got some blackberry jam down at the farmer’s market as well. They should be done by now so come on if you want them nice and warm.”

Soon she saw him walking around the corner wearing a white T-shirt and pajama pants. He yawned out loud and rubbed his face as he sat down on a bar stool near the kitchen island. “Everything smells good, do you need any help?”

“I can handle everything and besides you are my guest here so I am going to serve you.” She poured him some orange juice in a glass as she went back to get the biscuits from the oven. Once they were out she put a couple in the basket and brought it to him along with the butter. She got the jam out of the cabinet and served him his plate of food. After eating in silence for a while, Andrew asked her, “How are things with you and Rodger going?”

“It’s been going really good. We were supposed to have gone to see his parents for dinner the other day but his father got sick. I am having lunch with his mother on Monday, it should be interesting.”

“Why do you say that?” Andrew asked with concern.

“Let’s just say that his parents don’t like me very much at all. Actually, they’ve never liked me from the very first time they met me. So I was surprised she called me up to invite me to lunch. But, we shall see what happens on Monday.”

“I know it’s far-fetched, but have you thought about dating someone else?” Andrew asked, biting into a half of biscuit with jam.

The questioning look on her face only made Andrew chuckle a bit, “What are you up to, Andy Panda?”

“God, I hate that nickname. But honestly, would you ever think about dating anybody else besides Rodger?”

“Actually you know, I’ve never thought about it but I would have to say no. Rodger is most definitely the one for me. He’s funny and charming plus he’s doing something for himself now that he’s on his own. We get along so well, I don’t think I could see myself with anybody else besides him.” Delia smiled, munching on some sausage.

“So what are your plans for me today, sis?”

“Well, we can go and visit Mom and Dad’s graves today and leave some flowers there. I know we’ll be meeting with Rodger for lunch later on and then if you want, you can go and visit some of your friends since you’re in town.”

“Sounds like a great plan, I can meet up with some friends of mine to let them know about the baby. Plus, I would love to get the chance to go by and see Mrs. Cipriano. Simone invited me for dinner there on Sunday before I leave. You know I am not going to pass that up to save my life, plus, I have to let her know about the baby. Heck, she has been like a mother to us ever since our own mom passed away.” Andrew smiled as he went to put his plate in the sink.

“That’s so true, I better get everything straight in the kitchen before we get ready to head on out.”

“Let me help you out here.” And soon brother and sister started cleaning up after their breakfast so that within an hour, they had the kitchen cleaned, dishes in the dishwasher and everything in its place. It took them awhile to get ready thanks to the fact that Delia only had one bathroom and they both had to take turns.

“Hurry it up Delia. Jesus, did you fall into the toilet or what?” asked Andrew.

  Opening the d
oor she aimed a threatening glare at her brother which only made him laugh when she threw a towel at his face. “Hurry it up, jackass.” Walking into her room to grab her shoes and a pair of earrings, the phone rang as she sat down on her bed. “Hello?”

“Hello there, sweetheart, how are you this morning?” Rodger asked.

“Hi there, I’m doing just fine. Right now I’m in the midst of getting ready to visit our parents’ grave with Andrew.”

“I’m glad I caught you before you left, though, because something has come up at home and I need to go back to my parents’ this morning. Something about my father, so I can’t make it for lunch with you and your brother, baby.”

When she saw Andrew coming out of the bathroom, she gave him a look of concern as he stood in her doorway. “Well, maybe next time he comes into town, we can all meet up. I hope everything is all right. I know I got a call from your mother about having lunch with her on Monday.”

“She didn’t tell me about that. I’ll have to talk with her when I see her this morning. Anyway, I love you baby and I’ll call you tonight.”

“Love you too sweetheart, goodbye.” Hanging up the phone she looked over at Andrew who sat down next to her on the bed.

“Who was that on the phone?”

“Rodger, he had to cancel lunch.” Putting on her shoes, Delia was getting that sinking feeling in her stomach that only occurred when she knew something bad was going to happen. “Let’s go.”

After getting flowers from the store, the ride to the graveyard was a quiet one for the two. Delia had been contemplating the series of events that were going on. “Don’t let whatever is bothering you right now worry you, sis, it might not be anything bad. It’s probably all in your head.” Andrew assured her as they went toward the entrance to the cemetery.

Smiling and nodding, Delia knew it was probably just all in her head. She wasn’t about to let today be a bad one, especially with her brother being in town.
